Boiling Water - 05.02

This exhibit demonstrates the amount of energy needed to bring water to its boiling point.

At a standard pressure, the boiling point of water is 100 °C (212 °F). To let the water boil a lot of energy is needed. To heat 1 gram of water with 1 °C 1 Calorie is needed. A calorie (cal) is a unit of measurement for energy.

  1. Press the blue button for fresh water.
  2. Wait till the green button lights up and push it to start.
  3. Peddle until the water boils. Hurry up!
  4. Time is running!
