In this exhibit visitors experience the determining role the riverbed plays for the stream and the speed of the river.

 

In this river the speed of stream is relatively steady. The speed depends on the difference in height of the starting point and the ending point of the river, called the fall. The bigger the fall is, the faster the water will stream. By transforming the riverbed, you can manipulate the stream and speed of a river.

  1. Let the water stream more freely.
  2. Narrow the river by placing the obstacles in the river.
  3. Try to stop the water with the obstacles.
