This exhibit shows the interplay of the centrifugal force practiced on the water by rotation.
When visitors give the box a spin they notice that the water surface inside the box forms a curve. This illustrates the parabolic shape a spinning liquid will form due to the fictitious centrifugal force. The water flows outwards and the centripetal force practiced on the water by the box keeps the water inside. The curve formed at the surface is called parabola.
