In this exhibition, visitors observe the difference in characteristics be-tween a pure tone and their own voice.

 

Pure tones are sounds with fixed frequency and amplitude. They are usually visualised as a waveform, indicating harmonic sounds. Tones that have arbitrary shapes and frequency content are indicated with sawtooth waves. In this manner, the various fea-tures of sound and tones can be distinguished.
 

  1. Use your own voice, as well as the pure tone from the tuning fork.
  2. Play the two recordings, and notice the difference in purity and shape of waves.
  3. Use the modifier to modify your voice into a more pure tone.
