In this exhibit visitors experience that sound exists of air vibrations.

 

When visitors hit the drums the skin starts to vibrate. This vibration causes the air to vibrate as well; a wave of air pressure differences travels through the room. Visitor’s ears perceive this vibrating air as sound. The disks on the board at the other sides start to move as a consequence of these air vibrations hitting the board.
 

  1. Hit the drum.
  2. See how the disks start to move.
  3. Your ears perceive this air vibration as sound.
