viscosity

This exhibit shows that various fluids have a different viscosity.

Viscosity is the measurement of a fluid’s resistance to deform under pressure. In other words, viscosity can be seen as a fluids resistance to pouring. In the case of oil, it is said to be “thick” because it has a high viscosity, while water is said to be “thin” because it has a low viscosity.

  1. Turn the handle.
  2. Notice how the different liquids use variating time to fill the tubes.
